About NOOTROPIC

This pen pairs the two best known Russian nootropic peptides, both in their acetylated and amidated forms. Semax derives from a fragment of ACTH with the hormonal activity removed, leaving the behavioural and neurotrophic effects; Selank is a synthetic analogue of tuftsin, an immune peptide fragment, developed as an anxiolytic.
They are paired because their described effects are complementary rather than overlapping. Semax is the stimulating half, associated in the literature with attention, BDNF expression and neuroprotection. Selank is the calming half, associated with anxiolysis without the sedation or dependence of a benzodiazepine, apparently through modulation of GABAergic and serotonergic signalling and of enkephalin degradation.
The AC- and -NH2 designations matter. Acetylating the N terminus and amidating the C terminus makes both peptides considerably more resistant to the peptidases that otherwise clear them in minutes, which is what makes an injectable pen format sensible for compounds usually sold as a nasal spray.

Where the evidence sits: both peptides are approved medicines in Russia and have a domestic clinical literature behind them, but very little of that work meets the standards or the scrutiny of Western trials, and independent replication is scarce. Neither is licensed in the Europe or the US, and the acetylated forms here are less studied than the parent compounds.

The pen format
Both compounds are conventionally sold as nasal sprays, where absorption is variable and hard to quantify. Delivering them by pen makes the dose an actual number: 10 units is 1mg of each.

Choosing between this pen and the Semax and Selank nasal spraysThe store stocks Semax 10mg and Selank 10mg as separate nasal sprays. Those are cheaper, need no needle, and are the format the majority of the published Russian work actually used. If you want to try one compound without the other, or to see which of the two suits you, they are the sensible starting point.This pen makes a different trade.
